Acupuncture has been a cornerstone of Eastern medicine for thousands of years, offering a holistic approach to health and wellness. One of the lesser-known yet profoundly insightful diagnostics techniques is utilizing the Hara. This technique focuses on the abdomen, or "hara," to assess a person's health.

What is Hara Diagnosis?

Hara diagnosis involves examining the abdomen to identify imbalances in the body. The term "hara" originates from Japanese, meaning "belly" or "abdomen." The abdomen holds vital information about a person's physical and emotional state.

Feeling the abdomen I notice tension, temperature, shape, size, tenderness, and your response to touch. The different locations pressed on the abdomen are linked to organs, meridians, and elements.

Hara diagnosis helps identify areas of stagnation or blockages in energy. Gathering this information helps me to promote better circulation of Ki throughout the body, leading to improved health and vitality. Combining the location of touch with the characteristics, clues me in on areas/meridians/organs/elements that need to be addressed with the acupuncture session.

This is part of your personalized treatment.

This tailored approach ensures that your session addresses the underlying causes of your symptoms rather than just the symptoms.
